A single best idea, a really interesting Thursday, sort of midsummer, but not summer

doldrums, the way this market's going and the stimulus to the halves, the financialization

of America.

It's certainly not a dull August, but it was a great cross-section of guests today.

Anna Wong joined us, of course, with Bloomberg Economics, a brilliant report out, and really the

first one to begin to think about not a quarter point, 25 beep cut here by the Fed in September.

Could it be two quarter points, a 50 basis point beep?

On the labor economy, on the Fed, Anna Wong.

The two-month backward revision of 258,000 drop in May and June's payrolls

was a three standard deviation outside of the mean

phenomenon. And that in a normal distribution means there's only less than a 0.2% chance to see

a decline in jobs as large as this in terms of revisions and then when we drill into details we found that
