All right, everybody. Welcome to The Sincast. This is Chris Atkinson from CinemaSense,

joined by Jonathan Watkins. Hello, hello. And today we have a very special guest,

his writer, director George Gallo, who has a movie called Vanquish, coming out in theaters

April 16th. It's on digital and demand on April 20th, and it's on Blu-ray DVD on April 27th.

George, welcome. Thank you for having me. Fantastic. Yeah, absolutely. So, you wrote Vanquish with

Samuel Bartlett. Yes. Yes. I was just wondering what the inspiration for the story was.

You'd have to ask Sam, I don't have a clue. He wrote the first draft, and he was very gracious.

He gave it to me. He said, what do you think? I said, I could absolutely destroy this for you.

And I read it, and it was pretty much the same premise, but then I called Morgan Freeman.

It was a friend of mine. I've done two other movies. So, I said, hey Morgan, I said,

in the movie, it's a cop that's still a cop, but you wouldn't maybe we'll make him a retired

police commissioner, and he said, great. So, then we started working on the script,

you know, Morgan and I talked back and forth, and then Ruby came on board. Her character was

a little different in the first draft. She's maybe more of a victim, you know, and we made her more

victim slash perpetrator. Yeah. So, anyway, they kind of evolved into the movie that it is.

Yeah. You mentioned this was your third collaboration with Morgan Freeman.
