all the disaster that I have pronounced against it. Here's the reality, sin is serious before

God in his holiness, because he is holy, he hates sin, because he is just, he judges sin.

Sin is no light matter before God. Sin warrants his holy judgment and wrath. This is what we're

seeing in Jeremiah 19. We see it in a variety of places as Jeremiah is proclaiming the judgment

of God for sin. So that's first reality that we need to remember today that we need to let

cause us to run from sin, not to toy with sin, not to rationalize sin, but to run from sin to pursue

holiness, because we know holiness is good. It's sin, warrants, judgment, consequences before God

in his holiness. Second, this picture of sin, and it's really twofolds, this is the second and

third reality, it is sin to stiffen your neck against God. What a phrase. They have stiffened their

neck instead of being moldable and malleable and humble before God as we read about clay in the
