Summary

0:34.5	Corinthians 10 and the New Testament tells us how to understand Exodus chapter 32 And so before we go to Exodus 32, I want you to listen to 1st
0:46.6	Corinthians chapter 10 verse 6. Paul in the new testament says these words.
0:58.6	He says these words. He says these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. Do not be idolaters as some of them were. As it is
1:08.0	written, the people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan
1:16.2	revelry. He's quoting there from the Old Testament. Anybody know where he's
1:19.6	quoting from? Exodus chapter 32, verse what?
1:25.0	Six, remember the little note you got your Bible.
1:30.0	Exodus 32, six.
1:31.0	He quotes from there. He continues on. Go to verse 11 in 1st
1:34.5	Corinthians 10. These things happen to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.
1:50.0	So here's what the New Testament is telling us.
1:52.0	The passage we're about to read in Exodus chapter 32 happened to them for us.
2:00.0	And we're intended to learn from the example of Exodus chapter 32 and heed the warning of
2:07.0	Exodus chapter 32. In other words, this story from the very beginning of the Old Testament is not just an isolated ancient
2:15.2	picture of something that happened a long time ago.
