0:26.0 | It is by far and away, the number one thing that our audience struggles with, which is communication. |
0:34.0 | And that's at its core. What we're going to talk about today is communication. |
0:40.0 | I have always said that the most valuable skill that you can acquire that you can learn is how to effectively communicate your value to somebody else. |
0:49.0 | And the reason I say that is because everything that we do is wrapped up in communication. |
0:55.0 | Your success, your very success at life has more to do has less to do with what you know and more to do with what how well you can communicate what you know. |
1:07.0 | And over the course of today, I hope you're going to notice and recognize just how powerful communication is and how simple it is because naturally what we tend to do as owners of businesses as entrepreneurs is we get this great idea for this product and we create the product and it's a good one. |
1:24.0 | And we know it will help people and we go out and we start trying to present it and sell it to folks trying to tell people about the product. |
1:32.0 | And they get into all the features and benefits and we come up with all this fancy stuff and we can't get anybody to buy it or we're not getting enough sales. |
1:39.0 | And so now we think that we must not have some sort of secret magic pill that we need in order to convey this information. |
1:46.0 | And if we just had the secret influence techniques, if we just knew how to do a pattern interrupt or if we just knew how to use a little bit of what's the big term that everybody uses for influence and persuasion. |
2:03.0 | If we just knew the right sequence of words to use that would magically warp our customers into realizing what's good for them and buying from us. |
2:13.0 | And we go out and we spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on learning these secret formulas for how to bring people to our product and how to convert them. |
2:24.0 | And I'm not saying that's all bad. |
2:26.0 | I teach a copywriting clinic every single year and we go into some detail on the nuances of writing sales copy and why we present things the way that we do. |
2:37.0 | But the truth is most of the people that you're going to run into who are selling product or service are are over complicating this process. |
2:48.0 | Not only are they over complicating it, but they're muddying the message to the point that your customer doesn't understand what it is that you're offering them. |
2:58.0 | I had one the other day somebody just sent me a note and and they were trying to sell me on joining their what is it how learning how to reactivate my primal instinct or something along those lines. |
3:16.0 | It was something very vague and I kept looking through I went through the whole site is entire offer because he's wanting to sign up for some free thing that he was something that was going to teach me how to activate. |
