Hello, thank you for joining me today for Give Him 15. I'm going to read from another devotional,

but this is Volume 2, Give Him 15 and Appeal to Heaven, Volume 2. That's a picture of Valley Forge,

by the way. I love this simple devotion that I'm sharing with you today. That's why I put it in this book. And the title

of the post is simplicity. Luke 1042 says, but only one thing is necessary. That's hard to believe it.

Only one thing is necessary, he said.

Jesus said, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Ecclesiastes 729 says, God made us plain and simple, but we have made ourselves very complicated.

Good News translation. Isn't that a fascinating translation? God made us plain and simple, but

we've made ourselves very complicated. I've always felt the latter part of the verse

was true about women, very complicated. And I've always felt the latter part of the verse was true about women, very complicated.

And I've been told emphatically that the first half is true of men, plain and simple.

But I now believe it's all true of all of us.

I can complicate almost any problem, regardless of how simple it might be,

making it huge, complex. And I don't like it when someone else trivializes it or gives me some

simple plan to fix it. Somehow, I just seem to feel more important when I have big problems with complicated solutions.

No doubt about it.

I am an Ecclesiastity 729 kind of guy.

We must learn to decompicate life, but we must especially uncomplicate our relationship with Christ.

Paul said to the church at Corinth, I'm afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray

from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

Life can be very complicated. Theology can as well. At times, if we're not careful, both can get

downright confusing. But the Lord impresses on my heart time and time again. There's nothing
