Neil Atkinson with Sykes to talk talk about chasing Sala, the biography that Sai has written about

Mo Sala. It is one, Cy, where, you know, your writing's always, always to me quite fascinating

and your writing's always about more than one thing, which is very useful for a book like this because Mosella is very much about more than one thing. And I think this goes all the way back to, and it's captured within the book, the complexity of Mosella's identity. You know, Mosella, we see him as an Egyptian. Egypt has a complicated relationship with Africa, North Africa, the Middle East.

Most Salad is depicted, obviously, as an Arab, depicted as a Muslim,

now can be genuinely referred to as a little public, given the length of time here

and the way in which he's raised as children, seems really engaged and open with the world.

So to start with Egypt, because that's where Sala starts,

you know, you've really captured a sense of Egypt as it was when he was growing up,

but also the fact that Egypt itself during the period of Sala's career

is a massively changed place.
