Grab a brew and come on in, the waters, I'm not going to say lovely given what we're about to talk about.

But important, the waters important.

This week, I'm chatting with the excellent Susie Madigan,

who has the vital role of senior humanitarian adviser on gender and protection at Care International.

Clearly, what's happening in Ukraine right now is horrific for everyone there.

But women and girls are particularly at risk during conflicts,

whether they're fleeing the war zone or staying put in Ukraine.

I mean, I'm sure you, like me, have read the heart-breaking,

fury-making reports on trafficking for one.

And Hannah and I have talked about trafficking and other things that are affecting women in Ukraine at the moment on the podcast.

Susie has a wealth of experience in humanitarian work with a focus on helping women and girls,

experience that spans 20 years.

And so I was very pleased that she explained to me the specific risks for women and girls during conflicts.
