It is October. All right right it's near the end we're

bit slow on the draw here but it's October and it is black history month and because of

that Mickey has this week met with her pal Rebecca Solomon who is a woman of color and

she's talking to her about Black History Month and what well what does it mean to

Rebecca as a woman of color how we think about black

history in the UK and I'm not going to like to you I've got a history degree

so this is particularly interesting to me when I had a listen.

It wasn't until I'd say the first year of my history degree

that I learned anything about the British Empire,

and which was fairly integral in the old black history in Britain and it wasn't

until my second year at university when I learned about the Empire Windrush and I only learn about it because I chose to write about it for my dissertation.

Clearly a lot to be chatting about, they talk about, yeah, not touching people's hair guys,

fucking hell. If you like this, you should have a listen to our regular podcast if you

not already. It's absolutely brilliant. I am biased because I'm a co-presenter and all of that stuff, but it is very good and you'll probably like it if you like this.
