Summary

This week we’re doing things a bit differently. We’re always wanging on about how gender inequality is a ballbag for everyone – because it is. And so, ahead of International Men’s Day on November 19, we decided to do a series of interviews where we chatted to blokes about what’s going on with the dudes. Keep your ears peeled for chats with writer Matt Haig, Shadow Health Secretary Jonathan Ashworth MP, writer, performer and campaigner Jordan Stephens, and domestic violence campaigner Luke Hart. In this episode Jen took herself off to North Woolwich to meet Dr Jacob Whittingham-Vigors, Head of Programmes at the Fight For Peace London Academy. They chatted about the organisation's work using boxing and martial arts among other things, to help support the development of young people in communities affected by crime and violence, the challenges facing young men in inner cities, and the life lessons of Rocky Balboa.  Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/standardissuespodcast.
