Nanotechnologies, the Bay Area Battery Technology startup.

I didn't draw it up this way, but Gene is the latest in the string of recent guests

here on the Shift Podcast who had a leadership role at Tesla in the company's formative days. In November we had

J.B. Strable on the podcast. In early February, Salina Mikko Aichik was here.

And today, Jean Bertachezki, who is Tesla's principal engineer on the Roadster battery.

It's interesting how all three and others have taken what they've learned at Tesla and

applied it elsewhere in meaningful ways. If there's a common thread, all three I'd say have a keen

understanding and deep appreciation for just how hard it is to make big dents in

this EV transition and they nonetheless are out there tackling huge problems anyway.
