Covert narcissist abuse is real and it is a form of psychological abuse used by emotional manipulators. The covert narcissistic codependent relationship can make you doubt your reality, confuse you and cause you to question your sanity. Signs of covert narcissism are not easy to spot. The covert narcissist can appear as shy, timid, vulnerable all the while beneath the surface they are waiting to drain you of your energy, money, thoughts, beliefs and personal power. If this sounds familiar you may be dealing with a master emotional manipulator.
Covert narcissists are masters at manipulating the emotions, thoughts, and beliefs of their narcissistic supply. They target victims who tend to have high empathy, are forgiving, understanding and self-sacrificing.
Signs of the covert narcissist are different than the overt narcissist. The covert narcissist can appear vulnerable, fragile, and even shy. Their abusive ways are sneaky and far more dangerous IMHO than an overt narcissist because they do not appear to be dangerous from the outside. In fact, they can give you the impression that they are the most humble, timid, kind, and altruistic person that ever lived. Spend enough time with a covert narcissist and you will begin to feel lost, confused, hopeless, and you will even question your sanity.
