And today we're looking at John chapter 8, verse number 44, and this is a single verse

out of the middle of a response that Jesus gives to a group of people who he was challenging

on the depth and authenticity of their faith.

And I want to hit the pause button on the narrative of Jesus' life for a moment to draw

out some important doctrinal things we need to understand from this one verse.

I don't know if you do this, but as you're going through scripture and you read the various

descriptions of people and places and things, we need to always have an eye open for specifics

about theological points so that we can know accurately what the truth is about various
