Summary

In episode 233 astrologers Kelly Surtees, Austin Coppock, and Chris Brennan get back together in the studio for the second of our two part series on the significations of the houses, this time focusing on the meanings of houses 7 through 12. In part 1 of our series on the significations of the twelve houses in astrology we spent a lot of time in the beginning talking about different conceptual structures underlying the meanings of the houses, whereas in this episode we just jump right in to talking about the 7th house. At the beginning we talk a little bit about the more public nature of the houses in the upper hemisphere, as well as how the interrelationship between opposing houses starts becoming more clear from the 7th house forward. Some of the core significations we talk about for each of the houses: 7th house: relationships, partnership, marriage, the "other" (as opposed to "self") 8th house: death, inheritance, assets of others, partner's finances 9th house: travel, foreign things, education, religion 10th house: career, actions, reputation, public life 11th house: friends, groups, alliances, hopes 12th house: enemies, sickness, loss, seclusion This episode is available in both audio and video versions below. 0:23.6	So part one on the Houses we recorded yesterday and we're going to release that in November.
0:28.3	Then this is part two, the follow-up that we're releasing sometime in December. And we spent a lot of time going through conceptual stuff
0:36.0	related to the underlying premise of how the significations come about in the houses and
0:41.4	then we did a long very painstaking run through the first six houses.
0:46.0	Today since we don't have to go through as much conceptual stuff I think we'll spend obviously less time talking about that and more time just talking about what houses 7 through 12 mean.
0:56.3	So are there any preliminary things that we should get out of the way or talk about before we jump into it?
1:01.5	I think we did that last time. I think we can probably just go.
1:04.0	And the seventh house, everybody wants to know about the seventh house.
1:07.0	Well, okay, one thing that I think we'll end up doing anyway is that now that we've done the
1:11.7	first six as we do the second set the clear
1:17.0	relationship of every house to its opposite house yeah will it will be
1:22.4	glaringly obvious to the point that would be strange if we didn't talk
1:26.2	about it.
1:27.2	So that'll be I think part of our structure this time.
