Well, I'm back on my travels again after a couple of weeks at home and this time it's

to familiar territory really because I'm back in Sicily, it's the fifth edition of the

modern incarnation of the geodistitili, which is a four-day race.

A race, actually, it goes, it finds its origins right the way back in 1907, but it was really

only raced sporadically through the opening decades and fell into a complete decline and

obscurity was cancelled in 1977 and it was only resuscitated in 2019 by RCS and this

is the fifth edition, as I say, of the race.

And I'm looking forward to it, it's a particularly hilly one, so there's only really one opportunity

in the four days of racing for the sprinters and it's attracted the strongest start list of

any of the editions of the race that I've covered since 2019, let's just have a look, just

leafing through the race manual, telling which teams are here, which teams.

So we've got Astana, Kazakstan, not Cavendish is here for his one opportunity, really, at

stage two.

I've barred in victorious, so here with a very strong team, they've got the defending champion

Damiano Coruzo, who's of course a Sicilian himself, but they're not the only world tour teams

because, you know what I'm saying, Antommache Circus wants you here and so to our G.A.

Co, Lula and the strongest team of the more, really, UAE team member, to bring like George

Bennett and Rafferne Miker and Diego Ulyssi to the race, then there's a whole bunch of

the Italian continental teams that are going to cause me a headache for the first couple

of days of racing, just identifying who they are, software Savini Due, OMZ, you know,

team Technipes, hashtag in a milliard Romagna, in a milliard Romagna, work service of Vital

Care, Dina Tech and team like that.
