Last week alone, German Chancellor Angela Merkel traveled 12,000 miles back and forth

between the cities of Europe and Washington, D.C.

With Vladimir Putin at one end and Barack Obama at the other,

she was trying to keep Greece in the Eurozone and make some kind of peace in Ukraine.

Some observers call Merkel the default leader of the Western world.

Is she the right one for the job?

won't be applying for work permits today after all. A federal judge has put a presidential
