Hello, now that I've calmed down about CNN's Tribute to Newscast, their new show presented

by their superstar anchor, Wolf Blitzer called The Newscast.

It's got me thinking about what's the actual CNN game plan here?

Because it turns out they're launching this new streaming service called CNN Plus, where

people will pay monthly fee.

Which makes you wonder why would people pay money to get more CNN-rolling news?

Well, it turns out there is more to it than that.

And we can hear what that is from Jeremy Barr, who writes on media for The Washington Post.

So what actually is the business model of CNN Plus?

What they're trying to do here?

So CNN has historically made money the way that most cable TV networks make money,

which is through advertising and also when people sign up for cable.

And this is basically CNN trying to pivot to more of a subscription model, where they're

basically saying, we're going to create this online product for you.

And we think it's worth $6 a month.

We want you to pay $6 a month for it.

And their goal is to get as many people as possible to pay for this.

But basically, it provides a new revenue stream for CNN, kind of like helps the network
