Although September 24 came and went, there were a lot of Armageddon-like things that happened over the weekend. It was reported that scientists discovered a new, COVID-like virus called Khosta-2 originating from a Russian bat. Additionally, Russia vowed to use nuclear weapons if pushed into a corner, while mobilizing their army reserve to fight in Ukraine. And today, NASA will slam a spacecraft into an asteroid, obliterating the probe and nudging the space rock. The impact is a test for deflecting dangerous asteroids away from our planet.
