Hello and welcome to the political party. This is the first weekly show of the year, so

0:18.6

it's nice to get back into the swing of things. This show features Sophie Jarvis, who is head

0:23.7

of public affairs at the Adam Smith Institute, which I'm sure many of you have heard of before,

0:28.8

if you're familiar with Adam Smith. This legacy, you can broadly guess where their politics are,

0:34.4

but as we talk about in the interview, they are slightly more rebellious and provocative,

0:38.5

perhaps more than Smith himself. But it's a wonderful conversation and always refreshing to talk

0:46.4

to people from different parts of political spectrum to think about things. We don't really

0:52.2

talk about libertarianism much in British politics, so it's good to have it on the podcast

0:56.6

and good to talk about some of the work the think tank is doing and some of the surprising

1:00.8

angles they might have on things. I won't ruin any of that, but it's a wonderful discussion. You

1:05.4

may have seen Sophie on various TV outlets and herder on the radio, so it's a pleasure to have her

1:11.5

on the podcast. By pure chance, I asked her to come on and then the following day we were both

1:14.7

on five live together, so I think it's always nice to have met the person before doing the interview,

1:20.7

so that was a nice coincidence. So I'm on tour first and foremost, the tour starts very, very soon

1:28.0

on Monday the 28th of January, which is very soon. That's at the other palace tickets for that

1:33.7

of a selling very well. There's only a few left. I'm delighted to say and then goes to various

1:38.8

other places. On the 1st of February, the Camboli Theatre on the 2nd of February, the Gloucester

1:44.8

Guild Hall on the 3rd of February at Solford Keys, the Low Ridge, something else gets a Manchester,

1:49.6

that has already sold out at the Hazelett Theatre in Madestone on the 9th of February. Lester,

1:55.5

I think, so far the only East Midlands Day on the tour, the Sue Townsend Theatre on the 15th of Feb,

2:02.4

also these are February, not January. I'm a fool. Camboli Gloucester Solford, Madestone,

2:07.2

and Lester are all February, North Allerton on the 18th, Darlington on the 19th, Barnard Castle on
