Hello, welcome to the Political Party.

This episode featuring Professor Sarah Childs,

Professor of Politics and Gender Director of the Centre for the Study of British Politics and Public Life at Birkbeck University.

This has been, I mean, I know I always say this, but it's one of my favourites.

But every guest brings something different, obviously.

But this felt like a really different chat to a lot of the conversation.

Obviously, since the show's gone weekly, it's allowed different voices and different perspectives and different parts of politics in.

So it's really great to just focus on one area of policy.

We do talk about other things as well.

But it centers as you would expect on the politics of gender and feminism.

So it's just great to have an hour or so just to explore one area.

And of course, it's nowhere near enough because the issue itself is so broad.

But we went through, I read a lot of Sarah's work before this.

I met Sarah a couple of times through the Political Studies Association.

And what is, and it covers out the conversation,

at a time when we really need brilliant people to go into politics,

I'm always slightly shocked that brilliant people who don't fancy it,

it becomes a recurring theme.

And I think if I mention it any more to her, she's going to tear me out of it.

So I don't want to ask her every initial stuff of Parliament, but it does.

It crops up each other.
