Hello and welcome to the political party, this one featuring Dr. Jam Halper Hayes, keen

0:16.1

watchers of political media will have seen Jam before. She was a consultant to President

0:20.6

Trump's transition team. She's a former chair of Republicans overseas, the body that looks

0:25.4

after, as you would imagine, members of the Republican Party in different countries.

0:29.3

I've interviewed her before on Onspun and she was charming, funny, very likeable and a

0:35.9

great person to sit opposite and listen to because even though, as you would imagine, there

0:41.0

was a lot of things she would say to disagree with, from my point of view, and perhaps from

0:45.3

yours, she's nevertheless permanently charming, very thoughtful and great company. And it's

0:53.6

a position we don't usually or often hear from, so it's a unique perspective on politics.

1:00.1

This is one of the most interesting interviews I've ever done because every guest has something

1:04.5

different to bring, whether it's insight, whether it's from their career, whether it's

1:07.8

that peak behind the curtain, which I always love so much. Sometimes it is more opinion-driven,

1:14.6

sometimes more it's about what the political values they have are and what their opinion

1:19.0

is. And this interview contains all of those things and becomes at times a policy discussion,

1:26.0

perhaps in a way that it wouldn't have done with other guests. Jenny's a brilliant guest,

1:31.2

and I'm sure, will provoke many thoughts and reactions. You can send them to the official

1:37.5

email. Well, there's not even an unofficial one. The only email I'm aware of for this podcast,

1:42.2

is the article party podcast at gmail.com. You can follow Jan on Twitter at biz underscore

1:48.8

shrink. That's biz underscore shrink. Follow me on Twitter at map 4. I know I annoy people asking

1:57.4

for I choose all the time, but it really does help. So thank you for all your lovely reviews.

2:02.4

So here we go, an hour in the company of someone who knows Donald Trump, who knows the

2:06.9

Republican party and is willing to defend them both. Jan, welcome to the political party.
