Summary

Strap in for an energetic hour of raw analysis from Labour's Karl Turner.

He's been going viral lately and you're about to discover why.

Karl is forthright but fair in assessing Labour's issues and what the PLP actually want from the leadership.

His perspective my surprise you.

He's also had his fair share of health issues in the last few years and is open and honest about it all.

you'll have seen and heard a lot of Carl in the last few weeks.

He's a very passionate Labour MP, frustrated with the Labour leadership. But it's in a quite nuanced position. He doesn't want Keir Stama to resign and he wanted Andy Burnham to stand in the by-election, but he wouldn't have supported him in a leadership contest. So it's really interesting to talk to him and try and get a sense of if that's the wider view of, effectively the soft left PLP.

We're going to this in detail. But Carl is such an entertaining man to speak to it. And his life has been fascinating. And he's very open about his life, his health, his perspective. And this flies by. He's a fascinating bloat to talk to and he's uh admirably honest

about the stuff that he's been through in the last few years so this is uh we get into stuff

Obviously, someone who stood for the Labour leadership in the past, may fancy it again.

1:34.1

And really, we're at the start then of the local election campaign.

1:37.7

So it's brilliant to hear from a leading member of the Cabinet as we go into what is going

1:43.5

to be a fascinating set of local elections.

1:45.9

Then on the 20th of April, my guest is Shabana Mahmoud, the Home Secretary.

1:49.8

Again, someone seen as one of the favourites to be a leader of the Labour Party,

1:54.4

Prime Minister perhaps, and who knows what is going to happen in the coming months and years.

But certainly one of the more prominent members
