Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Political Party podcast and I'm sorry

it's taken so long to get this out. There's no real decent excuse, which is very busy

towards the end of last year and then over Christmas. So there's a few podcasts,

political unsporting ones that will be released in the next few days.

And this was on that, well I'm always excited but particularly excited about

with Michael Portillo Conservative legend. I know it's about plenty of time to reflect on this

sense. But I think what really strikes me and see if you take this from it is how

gently it is but how ruthless is political brainers. That's what I really took from this is that he's

got a very geneal, very likable manner and is a true gentleman and is now I think it's

for say a gentle soul but he's still got that ruthless political brain on positioning,

on messaging, on frankly just pragmatic politics rather than always being ideological I'd say.

But see what you take from it, he was brilliant and apologies it's taken so long.
