Hello and welcome to the first political party of 2020. This episode features Lucy Powell,

Labour MP and someone who is coordinating Labour Together's review of the 2019 election defeat.

Labour Together is a group set up to try and unite the factions, different factions within

the Labour Party and in this conversation we talk about not only the review into the defeat,

but also Labour Together and whether it's possible to unite these factions, whether it's desirable,

and also just about what the Labour Party is and what it should be and where it's headed,

as well as just some of the technical details about the parameters of Labour Together's review,

what it will and won't conclude, not in terms of hard conclusions, but the sorts of conclusions

it's seeking to reach. So this is obviously also the backdrop of this Labour leadership contest

that's fascinating in terms of the lessons that Labour may or may not learn from the defeat,

the lessons that different people think it should learn, which I think we all know what we mean.

Some people may blame certain people, other people may blame others internally and externally.

So that is, we cover some of that in the conversations as well.

of the Labour leadership contest. She's standing against Keir Starmer and Jess Phillips amongst others.
