Coming up on the People's pharmacy, improving air quality through ventilation

and filtration. In the People's Pharmacy Health Headlines, this year's influenza season could be especially nasty.

That's because Australia is just emerging from winter.

The southern hemisphere is always about six months ahead of us when it comes to

seasonal respiratory tract infections. According to public health experts there, this year's flu season was the worst they've seen in five years.

If you dial back to the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, influenza was incredibly rare. That was attributed to isolation and masking.

Last year, there were also fewer cases of influenza than normal.

But if the Australian experience predicts what we can expect during the 2022-2003 flu season in North America,

it could be a flu-ona twindemic.
