First the news. In the Peebles Pharmacy Health Headlines,

there's growing evidence of a link between dementia

and drugs that interfere with the neurotransants like amatryptylene or peroxetine,

such anticholinergic drugs include antidepressants like amatryptoline or peroxetine,

medications for Parkinson disease, such as Benstropine, medicines for overactive bladder like

Tolteridine, and anticonvulsants such as carbon mazepine.

British researchers reviewed the medical records of more than 250,000 people in primary

care practices in the UK.

There were nearly 59,000 individuals who had been diagnosed with dementia, each one was matched to five

controls of similar age who had no dementia diagnosis. In looking back over more than a
