Hello and welcome to show 100 of the Political Party podcast.

Well, I thought it was going to be show 100 until an eagle eyed listener email made to

say that years ago that's who happens so to label to show 26.

I've been building up to show 100 for years.

Actually, this turns out to be show 101, but what better way for a show that mocks the spending

commitments and the mistakes of politicians to get his own figures wrong?

It is only fitting in the area in which we live that this should be the case.

So this is show 101.

And in a way, that's fitting because I'm joined today by John McTurner, and we talk about

a number of things that I'm sure actually he would like to place into room 101.

So this is a wonderful parallel.

I should set the start of the show.

John is a friend of mine.

I've known him for many years.

He's a fascinating individual.

I've always been thinking about when the right time to get him on would be.

And just almost as a treat to myself, I wanted to pick his brains on this 100th, 100th

and 1st episode because he is uniquely talented and has worked for various political leaders.

Jim Murphy, Judy, Gillard Tony Blair and his advice political parties all over the globe.

This conversation, even as a mate, I talked him about some of this stuff before, but never

in this way.

He was involved in the cash foreigners' investigation.
