Hello, I'm Matt Ford and welcome to my new podcast, The Political Party.

It's a recording of a live show I do in London every month at the St James Theatre.

This is the first edition, so as you can imagine on the night I was very excited indeed

and it's a real pleasure to bring you this new show that blends me

having a laugh about politics in the first half but then introducing my audience

to a political heavyweight in the second half and this edition features

The Legend George Galloway. I hope you enjoy it.

Hello and welcome to The Political Party live at the St James Theatre.

I'm Matt Ford, thank you very much for coming along tonight.

I want to say a big fan of politics myself and the personalities that illuminate it.

I think when you first get into politics as a young lad, you're already a woman.

They're allowed in these days.

You sort of, you get into it because you want to make the world a better place

but then you're drawn to individuals and actually watch

sustains you throughout all those years is these great personalities

regardless of your ideology that illuminate the stage

and make the world a more exciting place.

So I can't thank you enough for all of you for coming down tonight

because this is the sort of show that it's a political fan myself.

I thought it didn't really exist in London or anywhere and I enjoy

stand-up comedy but I love politics that's real of it.
