Today I want to structure the pod as sort of a self-debate. Today, I want to talk about should

we cut people out of our lives who voted differently and the way I'm

going to structure it is how just like in debate team or debate class I don't know if you guys ever did

that I'm sort of going to open with a question and then I'm going to debate the pros and the cons

and then hopefully come to a solution because this is a

question that has been on my mind and it seems to be a big discourse online especially on TikTok

amongst younger people and I've gotten a ton of questions from you all about family members

and boyfriends and even friends who voted differently.

So, you know, I want to start by acknowledging the pain of marginalized groups of people who do

feel like this is life and death. Okay, so let's start with the pros. Okay, let's start with the reasons why

you might want to cut people out of your life who voted differently from you. So if you are

in a marginalized group, if you are gay or trans or you're a woman or you're black or you have you know immigrants in your

family and you voted for Harris and you think to yourself I never want to ever speak to

anybody who voted for Trump again because it was a direct hit on my safety on my rights. Okay, that's

maybe, you know, if you're in that headspace, then one pro could be it feels cathartic,

right? Which is a pro. That's a pro. It might feel powerful. It might feel like some necessary

space between you and the people who you feel

voted against you, especially if they're your loved ones, right? Because then it's even more

charged. If it's your dad, or if it's your best friend, or if it's your boyfriend, one pro

is that it feels cathartic. Because, hey hey nobody likes stopping speaking to someone more than me

and i'm speaking generally here i am a fucking virgo through and through the way i am able to
