Should you try to convince someone that you've changed? Should you try to talk them into believing you, to making them

to talk them into believing you, to making them realize that they're wrong about you.

Is it your job to convince them that you're not that person anymore or you would never do that again or maybe you never did anything but they don't trust you and

there's nothing you can say to change that so maybe you should try to convince them maybe you can somehow tell them something that changes their mind but we know people

that won't.

We know people that won't change their mind about something that we said or did.

They'll just think that's who we are and we're not going to change.

I think one of maybe the biggest mistakes you can make is trying to convince someone that you are better than they think you are.

I'll say that again.

I think it's a mistake to try to convince someone

that you are better than they think you are.

And the reason is because you'll go against their belief system,

you'll activate their resistance and they will not even consider what you're saying

because in their mind you don't have the credibility or reputation to make an argument like that.

So you're already at a disadvantage.

You're already in that place where you won't be believed because you haven't in their mind and their eyes, you haven't built up the credibility or reputation that they need to be convinced of not by you but in themselves they need to be convinced of in themselves

That you are now this new person or you will never do what you did before. You will never show up that way again.
