Hi, welcome back to the Personality Hacker podcast. My name is Joel Mark Witt and I'm

0:09.2

Antonio Dodge. I have to lament something for just a moment here, something that I, something

0:14.7

that I'm just starting to get. I don't know if it's peturbed or annoyed or just like,

0:20.7

it's starting to drain on me, it's starting to wear on me over time. Yeah, so this is Joel's

0:25.2

lamentations. My limitations. Chapter one, verse one. Yeah. Nice is probably chapter like 30,

0:31.2

verse one. To be fair. The story continues. This whole notion that I see on social media and in

0:38.9

the world that the phrase studies show dot, dot, dot, and then fill in the blank of some study from

0:46.6

some, you know, I don't association, college, newspaper, it drives me crazy. It absolutely drives

0:55.5

me crazy because it's like how many studies conflict each other, they're supposed to be peer reviewed,

1:00.5

they are. And then like all these studies are, they're coming out to try to prove things. And

1:06.2

I'm reading these studies and I'm going, you know, like the summary of them, I don't actually go

1:10.0

and read many of them, but the summary that I'm reported by the news or the media or somebody points

1:14.2

to. And I'm like, this doesn't resonate with what I think reality looks like or how I've experienced

1:20.3

my life. I feel like I'm being manipulated with this. I feel like somebody's gotten some, you

1:26.1

know, some statistics and some numbers together. And they're weaving a narrative from those numbers

1:31.6

and then they're telling me how to think or believe or perspective something. And I'm like,

1:36.2

this is BS, man, how many studies do we have to keep throwing around? People are, well, how can

1:40.4

you prove that? Where's your study to back that up? And they, everybody's like throwing this

1:43.4

around. Like this is the, the Bible of the new world or something. Like we have these

1:49.0

articles, studies and all these stuff. I'm really, I'm on a rant right now as you can tell.

1:53.3

It's just like really bothering me because it's this, it's this, it's this sense as I move through

1:58.3

the world. And you know, most people talk about this idea of common sense. I don't know if I
