Innings-wise, do you think you can have a workload of a full season that's, you know,

is to say, 150 inning? How do you put that together this year?

I've had people playing devil's advocate with me. I've got high goals for myself,

and I think that I could have a full healthy season and there's

there's really no other way to go about it then then that's just how I feel and I think that five-innings,

six innings out obviously I'll eclipse my career numbers at this point and probably half the

amount of starts of a full season but regardless like I said it all comes down to the five-day routine for me.

And I think that as long as I'm able to take care of my body in between those five days,

then I'll be in good shape.

So that was Garrett Crochet on the podcast at the very, very start of spring training. And on that podcast with

what we knew then, I said it was probably a long shot that he'd make the starting rotation

out of spring training. I mean, remember, he threw only 12 innings in the majors last year,

none the year before. There were a lot of questions about him coming off Tommy John's surgery.

And at the time, we were talking about him possibly becoming a multi-inning reliever this year

or beginning the season as a starter in AAA.

How crazy does that sound right now?

Instead, Crochet opened the year as the White Sox opening day starter.

And three months later, here we are. He's one of the best pitchers in the game.
