Hello, and welcome back to Locked-on NBA Daily. I'm West Goldberg. That's Matt Moran Hayes. We have a great show for you today. We're going to be talking about some big off-season questions about the Cavs, Janus, and Kauai, plus whether teams should simply just wait out the Thunder and the Spurs. But let's start with the Thunder beating the Spurs last night in game five. They controlled most of the game thanks to Shea Gildjus Alexander and their

role players stepping up while Victor Weminiama was held to a series low 20 points. Here's more on

Locked on Thunder. When you look at it, this was as healthy as you can be in the Western Conference

finals for San Antonio. Yet Jared McCain starting in this contest and the Thunder. We're able to

come out of here and get a win in game number five in the Paycom Center. The defensive energy

just was stacking stops for OKC early and their lack of ability to translate that into

points in transition and close out to three-point shooters from San Antonio,

kind of led to this back-and-forth scenario where eventually the Spurs got up by eight points.

But the Thunder did a great job of being down, A.J. Mitchell, being down, J.Met up, of creating good offense as the first quarter went on and that eventually

led to the offensive processing that you solved to get them up by 20 points and so okay c after they cleaned

up the turnovers after they closed down to three point shooters early in this game uh the spurs left the door

open by blown bunnies at the rim and it was going to be something that ended up looming large.

And so when you look at the difference in this series, obviously it's 3-2,

the Thunder down two important players in Jalen Williams and A.J. Mitchell, Hayes,

has OKC's depth been the difference in this series?

Yeah, absolutely. He's been the depth, not only the depth, been the difference in this series? Yeah, absolutely.

It's been the depth, not only the depth,

but the depth in how everybody buys into their defensive concepts and identities.

Like having depth is one thing, but like when everybody's all on the same page
