Malachi 310 quotes God as saying, and I'm paraphrasing, but bring all the ties into the storehouse

that there may be meat in mine house. And God even offers a challenge to his people. He said that if

you'll do this, I will pour out a blessing that there won't be room enough to receive it.

Now, proponents of tithing are giving 10% of your income to the

Lord. They frequently quote this verse in support of that message. However, there are people who come back

and say that verse is from the Old Testament and it does not apply to New Testament believers,

that New Testament believers are not bound by that particular provision

of the law of Moses. What does the Bible actually teach about the topic of tithing?

Let me start by saying certainly and absolutely the Bible teaches good financial stewardship.

It actually teaches that 100% of what we have belongs to God.

Because God has given us life, health, strength, ability, intellect, time.

So everything we earn is because of God.

So we shouldn't think of just a portion belongs to God.

100% belongs to God.

That means we should be good stewards of everything.

It's not just, well, if I give a certain amount to the church, then I can spend the rest however I want.

No, actually, 100% of what we spend should be in accordance with biblical principles.
