0:11.9	Hi Dr. Laura, I am sitting here with my 14 year old daughter.
0:16.4	And our question is, she, during the quarantine, you know, she's obviously here with just our family.
0:24.4	And she feels isolated because she is not on Snapchat.
0:29.3	And my husband and I have not had any social media for her at all.
0:34.1	No TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram Facebook, nothing.
0:37.5	So she feels that she's the only one that doesn't have these social media apps.
0:43.6	And my husband and I do know that it all.
0:46.0	Stay put with it.
0:47.2	If her friends want to talk to her, if she wants to talk to her friends, pick up a phone.
0:51.2	Stand outside on the street and wave.
0:55.6	But enough of this minimalist approach to communication.
1:00.2	How do we allow our kids to be immersed in this minimalist approach to communication
1:06.0	and then expect them to be able to have profound relationships
1:09.2	with her sitting across from somebody and have to actually express themselves in paragraphs?

1:18.1	So the answer is freaking no.
1:20.0	And the argument of nobody else or everybody else, that didn't work on my mother.
1:27.1	Everybody else has that, well, go live in one of their houses.
