Summary

How important is a photography degree from a university? This question comes up quite frequently and is certainly controversial these days. The decision to pursue a college degree is very serious. Its a major life commitment, a time commitment and a serious financial commitment. You will have to decide what the right thing is for you. You need to think it through and do some soul searching to figure this out. But since you've asked, I will weigh in with my personal thoughts and advice.

idea kind of answer for this because a college degree or pursuing a college degree is a pretty serious

lifelong decision it's a pretty serious financial commitment it's a

serious time commitment and you're gonna have to do some soul

searching and thinking this through talking to other people and deciding if this is

the right thing for you but since you asked I will weigh in on what my

thoughts are what my advice is to this I certainly recommend that if anybody is

considering or has the opportunity to pursue a college degree please do it I think

it's a wonderful opportunity. The questions of this come to

whether it's practical or not, whether photography specifically is something that's important

to major in or not. And these are things, again, you're going to have to figure out for yourself and I can give you some

pros and cons here and just at full disclosure I do have a college degree I have a bachelor's degree

it is not in photography I have a degree in music and I actually stayed for a little while and did some postgraduate coursework until I ultimately decided that that wasn't the right path for me and I moved on.

Later on I ended up teaching at the college level and I taught as an adjunct professor part time for about 10 years and

then I actually quit that to make more time to do this show full time and I don't regret the decision
