| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome along to the Lizelle Wellbeing Show with me Lizzole. Now Mondays are all about you. It's your time to ask me questions and voice your opinions because I'm on a mission to help all of us thrive in our later life. So I will be sharing some data-driven research and insights to inspire you to do just that. |
| 0:24.1 | If you have a question for me, do please get in touch. All the contact details are in the |
| 0:29.2 | episode description and also at the end of the show. So coming up today, I want to get into |
| 0:35.7 | the latest research on red meat. |
| 0:38.6 | Joe asks about a chilly way to help sun damage. |
| 0:42.7 | Anonymous asks about the contraceptive pill for her daughters. |
| 0:46.6 | And Jackie is looking for ways to manage low mood and osteoporosis. |
| 0:50.5 | And then finally, Victoria wants to know more about good gut health. |
| 1:04.6 | Now, before we dive into today's episode, I just want to jump on to some new research, actually, from N-H-A-N-E-S. |

| 1:29.7 | lumped in with processed meats, as though they're one and the same. You know, a grass-fed steak |
| 1:34.7 | and a Frankfurter were just lumped together as red meat in one cancer-causing category. And it's |
| 1:42.3 | always struck me as being very reductive. So when I saw some |
| 1:46.0 | new research that's been published in this area, I thought, right, okay, let's unpack this |
| 1:50.8 | properly. Because here's what's interesting. And this is something that I have suspected for a long |
| 1:55.5 | time. Many of those studies linking red meat with poor health outcomes have been plagued by what's often |
| 2:02.6 | called healthy user bias. And essentially that means that people who avoid red meat often make |
| 2:09.1 | other healthy choices too. And the studies haven't always been able to tease those factors apart. |
| 2:16.0 | Well, a new analysis from the N-H-A-N-E-S, remember that one, |
| 2:20.4 | the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, has found that regular consumption |
