Join as always my host, Nick Falado. Today we're here to talk some Giants football. We're back,

baby. And we're talking today, a topic that I've seen pretty hot on the streets of Giants Twitter among Giants fans.

And that's should general manager Joe Shane be on the hot seat,

meaning hot seat, you get a job done, or you might be fired.

And will you be fired?

So there's so much to unpack when it comes to this.

And Nick and I went over what we wanted to do to kind of approach this topic of should Joe Shane,

the giant general manager, be on the hot seat. And I think there's different ways to go about it. What we're going to start, Nick, is by going back to where it all started after 2020, sorry, the 2021 season when Joe Shane did come in in 2022. Where were the Giants at? What was he working with? But I also want to look at this thing from a 30,000

foot view. So I kind of want to start it there, Nick, and then we can get into the timeline.

From a 30,000 foot view, I think about it like this. What are the giants accomplishing

should they move on from Joe Shane next off season? And in that same breath, when do you feel like it's fair to know if a general

manager should be moved on from or if a general manager has been given enough time

to put in his blueprint?

When we've discussed in the past, Nick, how much goes into like this build and this

idea, like you get in,

you start something in place and then it's really taking time and you're really putting all

these pieces together as it goes. When do you, generally speaking, what do you think is a fair

number for what any general manager should get or our circumstances important in that?

Dan, I think the circumstances are important in that. I think the context is important in that. And I think when it comes to Joe Shane, a lot of this comes down to the fact that they had to come up with another plan after winning in their first season when they thought that first season was going to be just a rebuild year. They did not pick up Daniel Jones fifth year option. They thought they were going to suck. And they ended up going what, like six and one, seven and two after the by week. And I think that just

rechanged all of their plans. And they said, yes, let's bring the band back. Woo! Let's go. And then we saw how that manifested and what ended up happening. The Giants sucked in 2023. And now we are here in 2024 and we're looking at the New York Giants and we're saying, yeah, we possibly should

get rid of Joe Shane at this point. I think it's just a little bit too premature. are here in 2024 and we're looking at the New York Giants and we're saying, yeah, we possibly
