Summary

Throughout church history, we see Christian men taking their hats off during prayer and Christian women putting hats (veils, bonnets, etc) on during prayer. The practice is derived from Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians and is found in the opening text of chapter eleven. However, in the modern church, this practice is kept by the men but not by the women. In this episode, Dale and Veronica look at this passage to understand what it’s truly instructing. 1:08.5	Not a controversial conversation at all. So this is a
1:13.6	I guess that's why our podcast is called Real Christianity. We're talking about real topics
1:18.4	in the church. Yeah, and topics that we get asked this question a lot. What about head coverings?
1:26.8	And it's not that head coverings are necessarily a giant deal in terms of the theological
1:33.2	nature of the scriptures, but it is a root issue in terms of people are looking at something
1:41.1	that is said in scripture. And for some reason the church isn't talking about it.
1:45.9	And we get these questions a lot. What does it mean? Should we follow it? Should we cover our
1:49.8	head? What does Veronica do? And so we're going to tackle that today. So get ready. And it's going to be
1:56.7	a maybe a little bit longer of a show. A couple things before we get started. I want to do a
2:04.0	quick review last week. We did a show about how ordinary Christians can share the extraordinary
2:10.2	gospel. And we talked about how we've outsourced our responsibility of sharing the gospel
2:15.5	to our pastor to our pastor and how many less than 5% of Christians share the gospel to one person
2:21.0	per year. Just so happens that Barna came out with a study on February 5th. So this is like a
2:27.9	week and a half ago. And what a fascinating study. But I'm going to redo something from it.
