I have six kids.

The oldest is 13 and the youngest is under a year old.

One of my favorite things is when we're walking down the street and strangers look at our

family and I see them do a double take and then start silently counting the kids one, two, three with a look of shock on their faces. I always just sort of nod and

smile. Or sometimes people will say to my wife, your hands are full to which she always responds with

something like, full of good things. In 2023, the average American family has just under two kids, 1.94, according to some statistics.

As far as Christian families are concerned, the stats aren't too different. In North America, Pew Research reported in 2019,

quote, globally, Christians are the largest group in 12 of the 15 countries with the smallest households.

Christians around the world live in somewhat smaller households on average than non-Christians,

4.5 versus 5.1 members.

Christians have their smallest households in North America, 3.4, and Europe, 3.1.

And by a wide margin, their largest households in sub-Saharan Africa, 6.0.
