Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.

And today his pick to run the Department of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. met with Republican senators to try to drum up

support. But before we talk about RFK, I want to talk about the department he wants to run. It includes

80,000 federal employees and has a budget of nearly $2 trillion. And its work impacts nearly every

single American. If you're on Medicare,

Medicaid, or Obamacare, all of that is run by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services,

which is part of HHS. If you care about what goes into the food you eat or the prescription

drugs you use, the FDA is part of HHS. If you think it's important to prevent the spread of diseases and prevent future pandemics,

the CDC is part of HHS.

If you care about our country being a leader in medical research to keep us all healthier with things like vaccines,

the NIH is part of HHS.

that agency is also part of HHS. And that is without mentioning the agencies within the department
