Clary Norris was an old school career criminal.

He robbed banks and broke out of jail.

He invited people like Russell Mad Dog Cox and Chris Mr. Renterkill Flannery to backyard barbecues,

in whatever house he happened to be temporarily hiding from police with his family.

He was also a devoted dad in his own way,

and his first stop after a prison escape was invariably to collect his kids

from the foster homes they'd been placed in.

As the years went by, Clary's youngest son Peter became his main fugitive companion.

Together, they travelled the country, evading capture and surviving any way they could.

Peter Norris has written a book about his childhood called The Bank Robbers Boy.

It's a beautifully written memoir of love, loyalty and choices.
