Yes, we're talking about old timey punishment and one of the reasons that you hear about

things like being drawn in quartered and all this disgusting stuff taking places that

kings and nobility would do this stuff.

The intent was to try and say, hey, you don't want this to happen.

You don't do this kind of stuff.

They weren't only sadists.

They might have been that too.

But it was really as a countermeasure to try and keep people from committing crimes.
