Today, the threat of Russian election interference.

If we go back to sort of where this all began.

Sean Harris covers intelligence and national security for the post.

Last Thursday, some senior intelligence and national security officials gave a classified briefing

to members of the House Intelligence Committee in the Congress on election interference in 2020,

which is obviously a big topic that people are paying a lot of attention to.

And there's a lot of anxiety about.

And this was kind of a customary briefing to give members the lay of the land.

And in that briefing, a senior official revealed that based on intelligence that the U.S.

is collecting, Russia had, in her words, developed a preference for President Trump in the election.

Didn't mean they were doing anything necessarily to try and get him elected,
