0:21.0	we're going to talk about this new move that Amazon is doing by going into the shipping and
0:26.6	logistics business in ways that they've never done before. Also, we're going to answer some
0:30.8	listener mailbag questions. But first, we want to start with the topic that we started to the day.
0:35.7	It is earnings season, so we want to get into earnings at Shopify. Shares of Shopify are down about 9% as we are taping this podcast
0:43.3	today, and it was down as much as 10% both in pre-market and early market trading this morning
0:48.3	after the company released first quarter earnings. Of all the three of us here, I am kind of the
0:53.1	non-shopify follower here,
0:54.6	so I'm going to lean on you guys. But when I first looked at the press release, I would say in a
0:59.4	vacuum, the numbers looked fine. You know, revenue was up 34% year over year, gross merchandise
1:04.8	volume, which the amount of stuff that was bought on its platform, would pass $100 billion for
1:10.4	the first time.
1:11.5	Net income, taking out some investment gains and losses that aren't really related to the
1:16.2	actual operating business was $360 million.
1:19.6	Though here's the knock.
1:20.6	It did miss expectations for the quarter.
1:22.9	And this is the second quarter in a row that it actually missed Wall Street expectations
1:27.1	for operating
