So welcome to another fabulous episode, which I have so generously called Sip Boy, an exploration

of our favorite lady mangakas, which, you know, everyone loves to explain a joke.

And that is, of course, from the beloved series in Yasha.

So, yeah, this is a topic that Raggedy planted the seed in my brain, you know, as, you know,

all great men do, I'm sure, right?

And I just, I really wanted to roll with this.

We want to explore today female mangakas.

There are so many mangakas in the world, and oftentimes people don't realize many of their favorite Shonen series were written by women.

While we touch on a lot of these authors, and I butcher so, so many Japanese names. I also want to go over when we can

little themes we see or uniquenesses that I think a female perspective can bring. Many times female

manga artists often stay hidden or use avatars or pen names for similar reasons to their

male counterparts and they also have the additional problem especially in Japanese society of

being put into a box with their gender and so this is a way for them to explore that.

And Raggedy even went over and beyond my list of authors I wanted to talk about today and

touched on a few that are likely or thought to be women that continue to just hide that

part of it just because to them, it doesn't matter.
