I mean, I feel like we already opened this can of worms

with our previous AAA episode on what anime is.

So I mean, why not do the same thing

and create a chaos storm by defining Shonan?

But more importantly, it's tropes, right?

Yeah, so kind of as alluded to in the intro, so to speak,

Shonen isn't, you know, it's not a genre, right?

It's a demographic.

It's not a specific show archetype.

That being said, when most people say Shonen, they mean battle Shon, right? Action

Adventure shows with a focus on fighting and magic systems, stuff like that. Yeah. Yeah, I think

our core examples that we've talked about on the show, previously Dragon Ball, Naruto, Hunter Hunter,

those kinds of things. Right right and while you can't

have a lot of genres be shonen there are tropes that have become defining features of what many

consider to be the quote unquote shonen genre and we're going to break a few of them down today
