We've seen all of the new series. We've seen all the old series a run I got to know first of all what do you

think of this chunk of it and be how does how does the whole thing stack up in your

opinion um I thought this last stretch was better than the previous two. I think the

nadir of the series for me was like, I don't know, man, it's like there's parts of three to really

bother me.

But yeah.

But you know what I was wanting to get out of this is,

am I going to, with this other frame of looking through the material am I going to glean new insights into the

2024? Am I going to get an idea of whether the book, you know, if there's some more book accurate information information which I've heard that this is more faithful to the book

And the other thing is I want to see if I could recommend this to fans of 2024 it, oh yeah, it still holds up. And unfortunately, I've come away disappointed in almost every count. I especially when it seemed clear that in lieu of the Japanese side of what's going on that they were going to

lean more into the Portuguese and the Spanish side, I thought we'd get more, less opacity into that

part of the political equation.

And yeah, we got more scenes with the priests

and we got an oddly conciliatory one in this episode but again I don't really think it informs

anything about my watch of the 20-24 season so if you're looking for more Shogun, I would argue for people to watch Age of the

Samurai on Netflix. I would argue for people to read the book.
