The Katsy Chiefs have traded all for our cornerback,

Trent McDuffie, to the Los Angeles Rams.

And today we're going to talk about the capital implications for that move on Locked On Chiefs.

There's a lot to talk about when we start talking about this Drem McDuffie trade. obviously, and I will recap it really quick. The Chiefs did make a trade. They got the number 29 overall pick in 2026, a fifth rounder, and a sixth rounder in 20206, as well as a third rounder in 2027. That is the compensation for Dren McDuffie. That is what the chiefs have received at this point.

Now it's a question of how does it affect the chief's cap room? And I'm going to take a look at this.

So it's also official as of as of Wednesday, late Wednesday, the chiefs did officially release Joanne Taylor.

So that move has also hit the lines. And that would put the chiefs just under $13.4 million of cap space with that move.

When the Trent McDuffie trade becomes official, that is going to be another $13.6 million that will happen.

And that will put the chiefs just under $27 million of cab space that they can work with

to get all of their players signed to get the players that they want to sign in free agency

to get any of the guys that they have that are restricted free agents or exclusive rights for

agents and to sign their draft class and be ready for the

2026 season there are still definitely moves that they can make i would imagine that there's

still going to be some moves coming we will see in the coming days and we will have you covered on

that if they do happen but right now that's the big thing trading trimmigduffuffie to the Rams freeze up 13.6 million against the salary cap.

Get you to almost 27 million in salary cap space.

Gives you plenty of money to go do some stuff from free agency.
