In this week's installment of our Summer Love in Series, we're rewatching a movie that some might call classic and others might call unwatchable.

1:14.9

It's 2001's Freddie Prince Jr. flick Summer Cat.

1:18.9

Yeah, having watched this now, I'm like, what anyone call it classic.

1:22.9

Yeah, more unwatchable.

1:24.9

I agree. I was going to say that sum is generous.

1:29.9

It's classic in the sense that it's 20 years old. We're going to be joined shortly by romance writer and elite daily editor Hannah Orinstein to discuss this movie, which is truly just a monument to the various bigotry of the odds, the fat phobia, the misogyny, the homophobia.

1:46.9

But first, we have to take a moment because there has been some shocking bachelor nation news. And we just, we couldn't wait until we have a chance to do a gossip episode to discuss.

2:00.9

Yeah, I mean, this is our Summer Love in Series, but I feel like this bachelor news break is like anti-Summer love in. It's like love is dead this summer.

2:11.9

Yeah, it's it is the summer of love being over. It's really sad on June 17th, Michelle Young, the most recent bachelor at and her fiance Nate announced that they had parted ways.

2:31.9

And they each posted messages on Instagram story in response to it seems like to rumors that have been swirling of their split asking for space and emphasizing that their relationship and their love was very real and they still care for each other.

2:50.9

3:02.9

She also said that she is quote deeply hurting and will need time and space to work through this heartbreak.

3:08.9

I admit when I saw this news initially on Instagram because I was following both of them.

3:15.9

I said really like them. Yeah, I was so bummed like look, these are real people, very young people people get in relationships and then they break up like all the time, even if they loved each other, even if there's a lot of good there.

3:31.9

And we are talking about people in extremely high pressure and public relationships and that is extra extra hard, I think to to make work, but like, yeah, they were just so cute.

3:45.9

And I just want Michelle to be happy.

3:47.9

It almost is like more sad to me when I thought that it might not work out, but I really wanted it to work out, you know, because there is a part of me when she picked Nate that was like he's young, he's never been in love before like this is a really high pressure, public way to have your first serious relationship and you know, is it really going to be the last one for him.

4:13.9

But I didn't you know it's like I he seems so great and like Michelle's great and I just didn't want to my instinct to be right, you know, and maybe it wasn't right, but in the sense of like why it ended, but I like invested more almost because I wasn't sure if it was going to work out.
